Mr. Guilbault was the first artist to receive the Artists' Choice Award at the summer showing of Les mains de nos artistes in St-Gabriel-de-Brandon, QC. All the artists present voted for the artwork they liked most.
2002
Excellence Award for figurative painting given at the 19th Gala international des arts visuels of the Cercle des artistes peintres et sculpteurs du Québec.

Relais Provins Valais, rue de l’Industrie 22 – 1951 Sion, Switzerland (owner: Mr. Jean-Marie Bercoli) chose one of Mr. Guilbault's artwork as the cover page of its wine list.
Support to the Arts Community
Mr. Guilbault made a showing of his Napoleonic Series artwork to support the activities of the Par le vent theater company for their presentation of Madame Sans-Gêne (2009).
Training and Evolution
For six years (1996-2002) Mr. Guilbault studied oil painting with Jeanine McCrea, professional painter and had coaching workshops with Anne Drouin (2001, 2009) and with Carole Bonneau (2008).
He has had the opportunity of traveling in North America and in Europe. This has been instrumental in his acquiring his unique mastery of subject, light and tones. He lived in Ireland for a year and the close contact with the Celtic culture and its artists and artisans helped his artwork mature. Wherever he went and goes, whether this be La Ville Lumières, Provence, Seattle, Virginia or his beloved Quebec, he stops, looks, sketches and creates.
This translates in his artwork by colours that are emotion-driven, subjects that portray the habitat of today and yesteryears. |
